What is CBD?

CBD stands for cannabidiol. CBD Oil is derived directly from the hemp plant, which is a cousin of the marijuana plant. While the hemp plant is related to the marijuana plant, hemp (and CBD oil) does not cause a “high.”

According to a report from the World Health Organization, “In humans, CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential…. To date, there is no evidence of public health-related problems associated with the use of pure CBD.” CBD is frequently used to address anxiety and insomnia. In addition, CBD has been found to help treat different types of chronic pain.

Tincture vs. Cream

Topical creams are similar to a lotion. They can be applied to the places on your body where you are experiencing pain. The texture is very similar to creams one would use for moisturizing skin. They are not to be ingested.

Tinctures have the same texture of an oil. They are taken through droppers and are extracts from the plants that have been dissolved. When using your tincture, it is best to place the dropper right underneath your tongue for the best absorption. If you don’t feel like directly applying the tincture, you can also place drops of the product in different drinks and foods. Check out our recipe section for more on this.
